I’m sharing my 2-year-old gift guide to help you gather ideas for your little one’s next birthday, Christmas, or just because! You will find gift ideas great for any budget and perfect for toddler boys and girls.
Well, it’s the end of the year and for me that means a lot of celebrations. From birthdays to Christmas, to New Year’s my family has a lot going on!
If you don’t know, I have a 2-year-old daughter, who turns 3 at the end of December. Because of this, I thought it would be a great idea to give you a round-up of all the gifts I bought her this past year that she enjoys.
Anytime I shop for my kids’ birthday or Christmas, I like to stick to some kind of theme. So you’ll notice that most of my daughter’s toys center around the kitchen or pretend play. I also am very intentional about what I buy for my kids and will share tips for buying useful gifts for toddlers.
I do of course randomly buy things that I know she will love throughout the year because as a mama, I just can’t help myself!
With all that in mind, I’m keeping it real and sharing the things that she has loved all 2023. Just know that this 2-year-old gift guide is full of toddler gift ideas, for both boys and girls, that have been tried and tested and are sure to be hit with your little one(s) too.
What to Look For When Buying Gifts for Toddlers
Quality Items – Children are rough with toys, so I love looking for items made of wood. Wooden toys are durable and will last for a long time.
Realistic Looking Items – I like finding toys that look as realistic as possible. I just find that this helps children to connect things to what they would actually see in the real world.
Items that Promote Development – Anything that gets my children’s bodies moving or brains working is always a plus in my book! Look for items that help with physical, cognitive, language development, and gross and fine motor skills.
Open-ended Toys – Toys that can be played with in multiple ways, like blocks, or animal figures, inspire children to be creative and imaginative. Open-ended toys also mean more uses for play and fewer toys altogether.
